About Colourful Paws

Firstly, thank you for visiting my webpage.

My name is Nikki I live in the Bridge of Don area  and have  done for most of my life.  I have had several dogs in my life including a Yorkshire Terrier, Springer Spaniel and a Papillion. I know the importance dogs bring to peoples lives. Dogs are my passion.

I am an energetic person and I love the company of dogs and the affection they share - I am sure they enjoy my company too!

I work in the Bridge of Don only at this time and will walk your dog either alone as a single walk or with a community walk with no more than 4 dogs in total. You can see your dog with the other dogs before you agree for me to walk your dog.

I can walk your dog in the Bridge of Don at the Scotstown Nature Reserve, Westfield Park, Ashwood / Woodcroft Moors or at Donmouth Beach. If your dog doesn't need a long walk I am more than happy to visit your pet at home for a toilet / comfort visit and vet drop off and pick up.

Your dog will be on a lead (retractable) at all times and transported to and from the location in my car.

Please feel free to contact me either via Email or WhatsApp to arrange a 'Meet-and-Greet' where I will come to your home and you can see how your dog and i get along.

I do kindly ask that all dogs being walked in a group walk are vaccinated, and proof of vaccines should be provided at meet and greet.

    Fully Insured.

    GROUP WALKS

I encourage and offer group walks. Please see below for the many benefits of these. Contact me for more details.

    Group Walks

Benefits of Group Dog Walks (available upon request)

    1. Socialisation

    • Dogs get to interact with other dogs in a controlled, supervised setting.
    • Encourages healthy social behaviours and helps reduce fear or aggression around other dogs.
    • Great for puppies or shy dogs learning to be comfortable with others.

    2. Mental Stimulation

    • Exploring new environments with other dogs stimulates a dog’s senses and keeps their mind active.
    • Group dynamics can make the walk more interesting and engaging.

    3. Physical Exercise

    • A longer walk (typically 45–60 minutes) helps burn off energy and maintain a healthy weight.
    • Ideal for high-energy breeds that benefit from extended, active outings.

    4. Routine and Structure

    • Dogs thrive on routine, and regular group walks give them a predictable activity to look forward to.
    • Builds discipline through walking in a pack under the dog walker's guidance.

    5. Confidence Building

    • Timid or anxious dogs can gain confidence by walking with calm, well-socialised companions.
    • Positive exposure in a pack setting can reduce reactivity over time.

    6. Cost-Effective for Owners

    • Group walks are often more affordable than solo walks, while still providing great value in terms of exercise and enrichment.

    7. Enriched Quality of Life

    • Dogs are naturally social animals. Group walks give them a chance to be part of a “pack,” reducing boredom and loneliness.
